ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Janet Rawsthorn, an artist based in Macclesfield, a small industrial town on the edge of the Peak District. I also spend a lot of time in Trearddur Bay, Ynys Môn. Earlier in my career I spent almost a decade in living on the Caribbean island of St Martin. These very different and very beautiful landscapes have inspired and shaped my artwork over the years. I have a real passion for landscapes and seascapes, as well as cityscapes and portraits.

I have had a lifelong love of art, and painting has always been an important part of my life. I have a degree in Fine Art and am actively involved with three local art groups, including Macclesfield Art Group, where I am a Committee Member.

COMMISSIONS

In addition to developing artwork for general sale I also undertake individual commissions, usually working from photographs. I work in various media including acrylic, pastel and watercolour.
